Union Cabinet Approves 7 New Indian Institute of Management (IIMs)

The Union Cabinet on Thursday approved for setting up seven new Indian Institute of Management (IIMs) in the states of Jammu & Kashmir, Haryana, Rajasthan, Jharkhand, Uttarakhand, Chhattisgarh and Tamil Nadu. The cabinet has cleared an outlay of Rs 451 for each IIMs in the 11th and 12th Five Year Plans.

The as per the outlay in the Five Year Plans, first four IIMs to be established in Rohtak (Haryana), (Chhattishargh) Ranchi (Jharkhand), and Tiruchirappalli (Tamil Nadu). These four IIMs to be operational for the academic session 2010-11. The rest three IIMs would be set up in Jammu & Kashmir, Uttarakhand and Rajasthan in 2010-11.

Aviation Industries Crisis in India, Praful Patel Meets PM

The crisis of the aviation industries is not over. The companies have been facing huge loss to the tunes of crores of rupees due the the global financial crisis and the domestic factors. Considering the seriousness of the domestic airlines, the Minister for Civil Aviation, Praful Patel called on the Prime Minister on Saturday.

It is expected the minister is likely to make a complete presentation on the problem of domestic aviation sector to the cabinet. According to some media reports, Patel may propose to set up a group of minister to look in to the problems faced by the domestic airline industries.

The domestic civil aviation sector is one of the worse hit due the global slowdown. In order to keep their profit intact during this hard time, many airlines have adopted several measures. It was hard time for the civil aviation and other companies.
